Clay Whistles

Ocarinas and Clay Whistles by Linda Stauffer. Flying Pig whistle included in the book “From Mud to Music” published by the American Ceramic Society. Ocarinas are musical instruments made of clay. They originated in Central America and Mexico, where they are still made today. All whistles are handmade of stoneware clay and sculpted into the whimsical animal shapes seen here. A bevel is then carved into the air chamber producing a whistling sound. Fingering holes are then cut into the body to make a full 8 note octave. Please allow 3 weeks for creation of out of stock whistles.
